By: Kristi Shinfuku/Shareably All children are miracles, but one couple captured a shot of their two sets of twins that have captured the hearts of the internet and showcased the power of families in their photo!
Photographer Juliet Cannici and her wife Nikki welcomed twin girls named Gia and Gemma on Jan. 26. Combined with their two other children, also twins named Nico and Siena, their family welcomed the two new members of their family with a special photo shoot.
The two older siblings were particularly excited about greeting their new sisters. “Nico and Siena have been so excited for their baby sisters to arrive,” Cannici told The Huffington Post. “They spent months snuggled with mama’s pregnant belly, talking and singing to the unborn babies. Now that they are here, they are incredibly gentle with them, and they love holding and feeding them. It is so amazing to see.”
11 days into their lives on this planet, Cannici decided to bring her entire family into grab photos. Unfortunately, the photos just didn’t seem to be coming out right. “I was so set on capturing Nico and Siena holding the babies in the outfits I had rented,” she explained. “But Nico and Siena were SO bored with me, the photos looked terrible. I was disappointed.”
After a little break, she decided to try something different. She had them all snuggle, and that immediately brought a change into the photos.
“They immediately held hands and wrapped the other arm around their baby sisters,” Cannici explained about the immense change. “I got them to smile by asking them to ‘act goofy,’ which they recently decided is just a hilarious saying.”
She’s excited about the bond she sees in the photo, and how much it reflects into their real life. “Several times a day Nico and Siena each say ‘I just love my baby sisters. I will keep them safe forever,’” she explains. “We are taken aback by how seamless a transition it has been for all of us.”
After Cannici uploaded her photo of her four children, she saw it immediately go viral. “I hope when people look at that photo they can see the true joy.” She continues to say, “to see our babies all together makes me feel such happiness and accomplishment. The joy you see on Nico and Siena’s faces is entirely genuine.”
After struggling for years with fertility, Cannici and her wife are happier than ever with their massive family and strong bond! It’s truly amazing to see the joy in their faces, and we can’t help but crave more pictures of their adorable children!
