Seems like China is constantly making headlines in the news. But, this one is quite different, and amusing. Footage taken at the Zhengzhou Zoo in Central China’s Henan Province, middle of last year, records a surprising event. A   Colombian white faced capuchin can be seen examining a rock, and then smashing the glass enclosure with it. A bystander watching the monkey even told reporters that the monkey actually sharpened the stone prior to using it to shatter the glass. A Zhengzhou Zoo staff member, Tian Shuliao admitted that this was no ordinary monkey. It knew how to use tools. “This monkey is unlike other monkeys. This one knows how to use tools to break walnuts. When we feed walnuts to other monkeys, they only know to bite it. But it never hit the glass before though. This is the first time. It’s toughened glass, so it would never have got out.”

After the incident, the staff picked up all the rocks from the enclosure to make sure the incident won’t happen again. Now the monkey has to look for other tools to use to plan his escape…we wonder what will come next.
