By: Elias Manzella/Liftable When Georgia Bradley took a vacation in Greece, she had no idea her heart would be captured by a complete stranger. While a tourist falling in love with a foreigner may be a common theme in Hollywood movies, this story has a little different tune.
It all started when Bradley, a Plymouth University student, decided to take a walk along the beach while her boyfriend hung out in a nearby coffee shop. She was approached by two men, and she quickly began feeling vulnerable and was afraid of what was going to happen.
“I decided to go for a walk along the beach and found two Greek men who kept harassing me to go out for a drink. I kept telling them I didn’t want to,” Bradley recalled.
“Then one of them grabbed me by the arm and I didn’t know what was going to happen,” she continued. “I was on my own and it was a very scary and difficult situation.”
“Pepper,” a stray dog, defended British tourist Georgia Bradley after two strangers approached her in Greece.

Then unexpectedly, a dog appeared out of nowhere and barked at the two assailants. Fearful of the attention being drawn their way, the men ran off.
“She saved me,” Bradley said about Pepper. “She must have noticed something was wrong. When I went back to the apartment she followed me and finally let us stroke her.”

Bradley and her boyfriend recall seeing the stray around before, and when no one claimed her after they took her around the town, they believed she must have been abandoned. She was so enamored with Pepper, she knew she could not leave without bringing her home.
Needing to fly home the next day, they took her to an animal shelter, but she has turned away. Sadly, they needed to leave Pepper in Greece all alone.
Pepper must have stayed nearby the last night because Bradley recalled, “When we left to go to the airport, we looked back and Pepper was running after the car. It was heartbreaking.”
Despite returning home, Bradley could not stop thinking about her hero, Pepper. So after a few weeks, she flew back to try and find her again.

“It was a real risk because we may never have found her again,” Bradley admitted. “But when we saw Pepper on the beach, it was the best feeling ever.”
Bradley decided to adopt Pepper on the spot. Taking her to the vet, she had Pepper microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and given a pet passport so she could travel with Bradley back to Britain.
After a mandatory 21-day quarantine, Pepper was ready to go home. Bradley arrived in Greece a third time to collect Pepper, but she was not finished being surprised: While she was in quarantine, vets learned Pepper was pregnant!
A week after arriving at her new home, Pepper gave birth to six puppies! Despite the challenges which will certainly come with now having seven dogs in her home, Bradley is happy to have Pepper by her side permanently.
“It has been such a crazy journey,” Bradley said. “But I am over the moon. Pepper has settled in brilliantly.”
