A Pigeon In Reno Is Seen Wearing A Miniature Cowboy Hat For Some Reason

A pigeon was spotted in Reno sporting a cowboy sombrero…just after a pigeon with a glued miniature sombrero in Las Vegas died earlier. What is up with some of the feathery residents of Nevada? Or rather, who in Nevada is responsible for these? While it may appear funny and amusing, it is still considered inhumane, as Reno City Manager Sabra Newby tweeted. People who spot the bird are encouraged to call animal service dispatch officers, Reno officials announced. Newby said, “Reno cares about our animals…they need protection and don’t need to become a punchline.” Officials are still searching for the person or persons responsible for the act. We wonder how they would feel if a hat was also glued to their heads.

Recently, however, a man called up the newsroom to say he was the responsible person. And, he was puzzled by the outrage and negative reactions to what he did. He said that no one cared about these birds until he gave them an “identity”. His Facebook page explains that he has done this to 7 birds. He invited others to join his pigeons with hats group, and explains that all of these were done in the name of humour. Well, several people don’t see anything funny with what he did. Unfortunately, pigeons fall into a legal gray area…they are neither domestic or protected wildlife. Still, authorities are figuring out what to do to stop the inhumane and disturbing actions. If the man wanted attention, he surely got it. He won’t be able to hide for long.
